  • Pharmacy Technician

    [Health Science Cluster]

    The Pharmacy Technician program of study introduces students to occupations and educational opportunities related to the pharmacy profession. Students will learn skills to perform tasks such as: receiving prescription requests from patients and doctors’ offices, accurately measuring medication amounts, packaging, and labeling prescriptions, establishing, and maintaining patient records, accepting payment for prescriptions, processing insurance claims, and managing inventory.

    The practicum courses are designed to give students supervised practical application of knowledge and skills. Practicum experiences can occur as internships, mentorships, independent study, or laboratories. The practicum can either be school-lab-based or work-based. Students will be provided opportunities to obtain up to five certifications.
