    The Programming and Software Development program of study explores occupations and educational opportunities associated with researching, designing, developing, and testing operating system-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for medical, industrial, military, communications, aerospace, business, scientific and general computing applications. This program of study also includes exploration into creating, modifying, and testing the code, forms and scripts that allow computer operations to run.

    The practicum courses are designed to give students supervised practical application of knowledge and skills. Practicum experiences can occur as internships, mentorships, independent study, or laboratories.
    The practicum can either be school-lab-based or work-based. Students will be provided opportunities to obtain up to six certifications.

    The Software Development program of study is currently available and open for enrollment at Career Institute North and Career Institute South.
