  • Phlebotomy & EKG

    [Health Science Cluster]

    The Phlebotomy & EKG program of study is designed to initiate secondary students to the field of diagnostic medicine. This program introduces students to occupations and education opportunities related to performing complex medical laboratory tests for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. This program of study will also include exploration into the opportunities associated with blood laboratories.

    The practicum courses are designed to give students supervised practical application of knowledge and skills. Practicum experiences can occur as internships, mentorships, independent study, or laboratories. The practicum can either be school-lab-based or work-based. Students will be provided opportunities to obtain up to four certifications.

    Students attending: Conrad HS, Hillcrest HS, North Dallas HS, Thomas Jefferson HS, W. T. White HS, must sign up for CI North.

    Students attending: Adamson HS, Carter HS, Kimball HS, Molina HS, Pinkston HS, Roosevelt HS, South Oakcliff HS, Sunset HS, must sign up for CI South.
