Ms. Jessie Helms was born and raised in the Dallas area and graduated with her Bachelors and Master’s degree in elementary education from Stephen F. Austin State University. She began her teaching career in Â鶹Çøat Silberstein Elementary teaching 3rd grade Math & Science. After 3 years at that campus, she made the choice to join a DISD ACE campus, Annie Webb Blanton Elementary School, where she taught 3rd, 4th and 5th grade Math before eventually becoming the Math Instructional Coach. She is now happy to be starting her fourth year as Assistant Principal at San Jacinto ES. 

 

Ms. Helms grew up wanting to be a teacher because her life was consistently impacted by the power of great teachers, and she hopes to return that positive impact to the children in Dallas ISD. She knows that passion, effective instruction and equitable learning experiences make the greatest difference in student academic achievement and can create futures without limits.
