Mrs. Sarah Hafley Mendoza

Mrs. Mendoza was born in Las Vegas, Nevada and raised in Chandler, Arizona. When she was ten years old, her family moved to Texas. After graduating from Lubbock High School, she became the first in her family to graduate from college by attending the University of Northern Colorado and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Multicultural Studies.

As soon as she graduated, she moved back to Texas and began serving students in Dallas ISD. Over the years, Mrs. Mendoza has served in various leadership roles as a Classroom Teacher, Campus Instructional Coach, and an Assistant Principal all within Dallas ISD. She graduated from the University of Arlington with a Masters in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies with Principal Certification.

Her years of experience within Â鶹Çøinclude developing a curriculum that, in turn, helped campuses achieve double-digit gains. She was also a founding Campus Instructional Coach of Dallas ISDs first all-boys choice elementary school. Her accomplishments include being honored with the Julian T. Saldivar Service Award (2015), earning all six distinctions from the Texas Education Agency (2017), leading L.K. Hall as a Campus Instructional Coach to become an Accomplished school based on Dallas ISD’s Performance Framework (2017), being recognized by Teaching Trust’s Teams 2 program for transforming schools and having a significant impact on student achievement (Teaching Trust Impact Report 2017), and was a part of the administrative team selected to be featured in Leverage Leadership 2.0 by Paul Bambrick, a book highlighting schools across the country that have used practices from the book to turn around schools.

Mrs. Mendoza is married with two sons and one daughter and enjoys any outdoor activities near a lake or camping and spending quality time with her close family and friends. Mrs. Mendoza believes in the importance of building strong relationships between all staff members and the community. She is driven by providing an equal life chance for all students. She is a passionate administrator who is most fulfilled and motivated by connecting, inspiring, and serving others.
