• Exclusions from School- Communicable Diseases:

    In accordance with the Texas Department of State Health Services, a school can exclude a student from attendance who is suspected of having a communicable disease. A student may return to school after being excluded for communicable disease with a physician’s statement stating that the student does not currently have signs or symptoms of a communicable disease or that the disease is not communicable in school setting (25 Texas Administrative Code §97.7(d)) or by readmission criteria as established by the commissioner of health (see below chart).
