     ACADEMICS
LECHS is a partnership between Dallas School District and Dallas College. It is designed to meet the needs of students who possess the academic potential and determination to successfully begin college as early as their 9th-grade year. By grade 10, qualified students take more and more of their classes for college credit. Students must maintain a 2.0 college GPA to continue to enroll in El Centro classes; self-manage their high school and college studies and demonstrate a positive effort toward earning their associate’s degrees.

On LECHS’S accelerated calendar, students earn a semester’s high school credit every nine weeks. The pace and rigor of the program require students to master academic behaviors and acquire college skills, long before many of their peers. Although students come to Lassiter Early College High School from a variety of schools and academic backgrounds, one trait unites them: the motivation to jump-start their college education through hard work.
