  • Our Vision

    Alex W. Spence Middle School and TAG Academy offers a variety of programs to maximize students’ academic, social and emotional potential. Two independent schools are housed at Spence: The TAG academy attracts top academic students in grades 6 through 8 who score above the 80th percentile in all content areas and take Pre-AP classes with a 99 percent passing rate.

    The application window is now open for students interested in joining our Alex W. Spence Talented/Gifted family.

    The Spence Experience

    Alex W. Spence Middle School and TAG Academy is a school within a school concept, allowing magnet students the opportunity to take advantage of the benefits of increased elective options, sports and extracurricular activities available in a neighborhood school setting. This blending of abilities results in all students increasing academic expectations for themselves, and serves to help them build leadership skills and self-esteem.
