Recognizing that parents, families, and caregivers of special needs students have unique concerns and needs, the Special Services Family and Community Engagement department provides training, workshops and resources to empower parents/guardians to advocate for their students with special education needs.
The 鶹Special Services Department created the Family and Community Engagement department to strengthen communication with parents and families of special needs students ages 3 to 21 who face significant challenges and need additional support.

ARD SURVEY
The 鶹Special Services Department has developed a parent survey that will provide valuable feedback to help us improve the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) process.
The survey will be given to parents at the close of each ARD meeting or they can also download it here.

Notice of Procedural Safeguards and Parent’s Guide to the ARD Process Update
In October of 2020, the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) required the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to make several edits to the Parent’s Guide to the Admission, Review, and Dismissal Process and the Notice of Procedural Safeguards documents.
