What is the Academy of Health Sciences?

The Academy of Health Sciences (AOHS) address the critical achievement gap in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields and develops a pipeline of students prepared to pursue health-related degrees and professions in one of the fastest growing sectors of the economy: health sciences specialties such as biotechnology, genetics, nursing, therapeutics, and diagnostics just to name a few. In addition to the required classes, academy students combine specialized, theme-based courses with real-world experience. Students learn skills and self-confidence as they experience the connections between what they learn in school and the larger world as they transition to adult life.
