I'm thrilled to embark on my inaugural year in special education at Alex Sanger. Prior to joining the dedicated team at Alex Sanger, I devoted six years to teaching mathematics at the middle school level. My journey in education is fueled by a fervent commitment to fostering inclusivity in the learning process. I am deeply passionate about creating an educational environment that welcomes and supports all learners. In my belief system, confidence and the acknowledgment of one's abilities serve as the foundational pillars for a successful education. Witnessing students evolve and flourish is a source of immense joy for me. I am dedicated to guiding them toward becoming lifelong learners who embrace their curiosity, ultimately paving the way for a fulfilling educational journey.

Since the beginning of my teaching career seven years ago, I have always fostered the dream to become a highly effective, purposeful, and culturally competent educator in helping build up all students to become “citizens of the world” that can help be the change we hope to see in this world. I am devoted to building strong relationships, fostering a love for lifelong learning with a growth mindset, and partnering with families. I am passionate about providing students a safe, joyful place where they are welcome to come as they are, knowing they are loved, valued, and believed in as they grow to become all they are called to be.

With over 40 years of teaching experience, I strive to foster a learning environment with inclusive and dynamic values. I am dedicated to helping each student reach his or her potential and achieve success. I endeavor to create an atmosphere that encourages students to be creative and curious.

I have been working as a dyslexia therapist for six years. I am also bilingual in Spanish and English. I have a passion for helping children who struggle with dyslexia, and I am so excited to join the Sanger team! I feel that I am ready to make a difference in the student’s lives by providing explicit, multi-sensory instruction. I also feel that it is crucial for students with dyslexia to receive emotional support in order to build the confidence needed to be a successful learner in the classroom.
