• One of Dallas ISD's six student achievement goals calls for all students to participate in at least one extracurricular activity each year. With a plentiful variety of before-and-after school offerings, Kramer strives to meet the diverse interests of all our students and make learning fun. Here are some examples of Kramer's clubs in the past:

    • Destination Imagination
    • UIL Academic Team
    • Competitive Math Team
    • E-Sports
    • Classroom Enrichment Sessions
    • Team Sports: Basketball, Flag Football, Volleyball, Baseball, and Soccer!

    Destination Imagination:

The Destination Imagination program is a fun, hands-on system of learning that fosters students’ creativity, courage and curiosity through academic challenges in the fields of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), fine arts and service learning.  These challenges are open-ended, allowing teams to express themselves creatively and take full ownership of their solutions. Challenges are designed to teach the creative process—a system of learning that is at the root of innovation and a child’s ability to bring an idea to life.

    UIL Academic Team:

The Kramer UIL Team participates in the two district UIL competitions that complement the academic curriculum.  Students are challenged to think critically, exhibiting much more than knowledge and comprehension. Students are able to compete in areas such as chess puzzles, spelling, number sense, dictionary skills, listening, Social Studies, among others.

    TMSCA (Math) Team:

As part of the Kramer Math Team, 4th and 5th grade students learn strategies that further their knowledge in Mathematics and Science. Students that are part of the Math team also have the opportunity to compete in competitions through TMSCA. The purpose of TMSCA is to enhance competition in UIL Math & Science contests through grade level and team competition. Contests include:

    • Number Sense
    • Calculator
    • Mathematics
    • Science

    Esports

Esports is a gaming club for 4th and 5th grade students that focuses on age-appropriate Nintendo games.  4th and 5th grade students have the opportunity to compete in two district in-person gaming tournaments. Students will not only learn about gaming, but also learn skills such as leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and problem solving.

    Classroom Enrichment Session

All Kramer students have the opportunity to have in-class enrichment sessions.  These sessions are extra-curricular and allow students to experience fun and engaging activities.  Some of the examples of our classroom enrichment sessions are: arts and crafts, dancing, book buddies, Little Kids Rock, STEM club, board games, puzzles, Readers Theater, among others.

    Other Extra-Curricular Activities

Ballet: Students get the opportunity to participate in ballet as an outreach partnership with Texas Ballet Theater’s CityDance Outreach Program.  Students get 5 weeks of ballet lessons and get to learn about the techniques and skills that are needed for ballet.

YMCA Sports: With a partnership through the YMCA, Kramer students have the opportunity to play team sports.  These include basketball, soccer, volleyball, and football.
