  • Mr. Bennett

    Principal

    As a 23-year veteran in education, Gerald B. Bennett brings his passion for the whole-child approach as the Principal of Clinton P. Russell Elementary. He spent 16 of those years as a campus administrator.  During his tenure with Dallas ISD, he has worked at 8 different campuses spanning from elementary to middle school. His education experience begin at Edna Rowe Elementary, where he taught in a self-contained classroom for seven years. He then moved into school administrative roles as an assistant principal at Richard Lagow Elementary School in 2010. Mr. Bennett joined B.H. Macon Elementary as the principal in 2012. During his tenure, he led the campus to a state rating of both Recognized and Exemplary.

    Gerald B. Bennett is an alum of the Aspiring Principals Program, Urban Leadership Cohort, and International Reading Association Member - all programs to build capacity toward leading effective schools. Currently, he is  pursuing a PH.D in education administration at the University of Texas at Austin in the Cooperative Superintendency Program. 

    Mr. Bennett believes, "My goal is to educate the whole child and inspire them to become lifelong learners and leaders in their communities”.

    He lives in the Oak Cliff neighborhood of Dallas. He has two daughters that are both college graduates. He enjoys watching sports and playing golf.
