    Ms. Shadaria Foster Biography

     

    Shadaria Foster is Â鶹ÇøProud. As a student, she attended H.I. Holland at Lisbon Elementary School, O.W. Holmes Middle School, and South Oak Cliff High School. Shadaria received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Psychology and a Master of Education in Special Education from Texas A&M University - Commerce. Shadaria pursued a second Master of Education in Educational Administration from Prairie View A&M University.

    Ms. Foster started her career in education teaching at O.W. Holmes Middle School, of which she is a proud product, and later taught at Billy Earl Dade Middle School, where she impacted positive change on the campus and in the community. At Billy Earl Dade, Shadaria was named Teacher of the Year for 3 consecutive years.

    Next, Shadaria was recommended as assistant principal of Balch Springs Middle School where she led school culture, professional development, school operations and the English Language Arts and Reading department, which earned a distinction. She was also appointed as the researcher for the gender-based school design which helped lead to the opening of the A-Rated Young Women’s STEAM Academy at Balch Springs.

    Following her time at YWSA, Shadaria served as assistant principal at Skyline High School Career and Development Center leading curriculum and instruction, school culture and operations, professional development, Algebra 1 and US History, earning a distinction and double-digit gains on ACPs and STAAR assessments each year. At Skyline High School, Shadaria was selected as Administrator of the Year during the 2018-2019 school year.

    Due to exemplary leadership at YWSA and Skyline High School, Shadaria was recommended as the Achieving in the Middle (AIM) Coordinator to lead improvement of academic achievement and culture systems across 24 middle schools in the Dallas Independent School District.

    Shadaria Foster’s most recent assignment was serving as the principal at Kennedy-Curry Middle School. She is excited and optimistic about the academic and cultural gains made since 2019. Under Principal Foster’s leadership, Kennedy-Curry has shown the highest academic growth amongst AIM campuses. Due to her leadership, climate surveys have indicated a double digit increase in positive response results since 2019. Ms. Foster also led the transformation of Kennedy-Curry into an outstanding OTI performing arts campus. Most importantly, Kennedy-Curry moved from a TEA F rating to falling two points shy of a B rating through state and local accountability systems. Partnering with key stakeholders, Ms. Foster is committed to breaking the cycle of generational poverty within the Highland Hills and Wilmer-Hutchins communities. Ms. Shadaria Foster is honored to serve as Principal at Wilmer-Hutchins High School where excellence is the only option and it's “Eagles Way, All Day!” Shadaria Foster has been named as Dallas ISD’s 2023 Secondary Principal of the Year.
