As a Hispanic male school leader, his experiences have driven him to manage with a relentless commitment to excellence, advocacy for all children, personalization, and a passion for building a legacy of equity and excellence.

He believes that education must equip students with the necessary tools to grow academically, build self-awareness, and guide social behavior to compete and contribute to a global society. Having started as a bilingual teacher at Kahn Elementary in Oak Cliff, Dr. Cervantes realized the impact of dual language education and the importance of parent partnerships in their students’ education. This led him to pursue a Master's Degree in Bilingual Education focusing on the gifted and talented.

As a life-long learner, Reymundo continued his education, earning a doctorate from Southern Methodist University in Educational Leadership & Policy. Because of his leadership, he was named the 2021-2022 Â鶹ÇøElementary School Principal of the Year.
