While this time of year is traditionally filled with excitement for the start of a new school year, it is understandable that there are probably some mixed emotions, with some anxiety over the uncertainty of our school year, that are infringing on that excitement. As a parent, I certainly can understand and respect the wide range of emotions involved in examining the prospects of a new school year in the modern Covid-19 era in a virtual setting. With that being said, we are committed to facing these challenges and doing our very best to ensure that all our students receive the highest quality education possible.

To that end, the first part of our plan at John F. Peeler is to effectively communicate with all stakeholders in the most thorough manner possible. We will be transparent with the steps that we will take to reasonably mitigate risk at John F. Peeler.  This communication will mainly take the form of our school messenger calls, Twitter, Facebook, Peeler Pride monthly parent newsletter, and website postings at the John F. Peeler homepage.

This school year is truly going to be something special.  We want to teach our students to “Be Risktakers”.  We believe in new innovative beginnings.  We believe in growth and potential.  And we believe in bringing everyone together to accomplish success virtually.

To our Little Pirates, I want you to know how much we truly care about you and miss you.  You are the reason we come to work every day.  You matter to each one of us.  We hope that every day you leave our zoom class knowing how special you are and just how much potential you hold.

To the Peeler Parents and Families, you are just as important.  Without you, we will not reach our full potential as a school.  We value you and your opinions.  We look to you as a partner in your child’s education.  We are excited to work with you. 

To our Oak Cliff Community, we know this is a team effort.  We know it will take an entire community coming together.  We invite the entire community to take part in the exciting upcoming school year as we transform to an International Baccalaureate Elementary school.

I look forward to meeting all of you at Meet the Teacher night on Thursday, September 3 from 3pm-6pm.  This school year is filled with unlimited creative potential and opportunities. Peeler Pirates are ready to meet the challenges head on! Engage! Empower! Act!

Esta época del año está tradicionalmente llena de entusiasmo por el comienzo de un nuevo año escolar, es comprensible que probablemente haya algunas emociones encontradas, con algo de ansiedad por la incertidumbre de nuestro año escolar, que están infringiendo ese entusiasmo. Como padre, ciertamente puedo entender y respetar la amplia gama de emociones involucradas al examinar las perspectivas de un nuevo año escolar en la era moderna de Covid-19 en un entorno virtual. Dicho esto, estamos comprometidos a enfrentar estos desafíos y hacer nuestro mejor esfuerzo para asegurar que todos nuestros estudiantes reciban la educación de la más alta calidad posible.

Con ese fin, la primera parte de nuestro plan en John F. Peeler es comunicarnos de manera efectiva con todas las partes interesadas de la manera más completa posible. Seremos transparentes con los pasos que tomaremos para mitigar razonablemente el riesgo en John F. Peeler. Esta comunicación tomará principalmente la forma de nuestras llamadas de mensajería de la escuela, Twitter, Facebook, el boletín mensual para padres de Peeler Pride y publicaciones en el sitio web en la página de inicio de John F. Peeler.

Este año escolar realmente va a ser algo especial. Queremos enseñar a nuestros estudiantes a "Ser Riesgosos". Creemos en nuevos comienzos innovadores. Creemos en el crecimiento y el potencial. Y creemos en unir a todos para lograr el éxito de manera virtual.

Para nuestros Pequeños Piratas, quiero que sepan cuánto realmente nos preocupamos por ustedes y los extrañamos. Tú eres la razón por la que venimos a trabajar todos los días. Nos importas a cada uno de nosotros. Esperamos que todos los días salga de nuestra clase de zoom sabiendo lo especial que es y cuánto potencial tiene.

Para los padres y familias de Peeler, ustedes son igualmente importantes. Sin ti, no alcanzaremos todo nuestro potencial como escuela. Te valoramos a ti y a tus opiniones. Lo consideramos un socio en la educación de su hijo. Estamos emocionados de trabajar contigo.

Para nuestra comunidad de Oak Cliff, sabemos que este es un esfuerzo de equipo. Sabemos que será necesario que toda una comunidad se una. Invitamos a toda la comunidad a participar en el emocionante próximo año escolar mientras nos transformamos en una escuela primaria de Bachillerato Internacional.

Espero conocerlos a todos en la noche Meet the Teacher el jueves 3 de septiembre de 3 pm a 6 pm. Este año escolar está lleno de posibilidades y oportunidades creativas ilimitadas. ¡Los Piratas Peeler están listos para enfrentar los desafíos de frente! ¡Contratar! ¡Autorizar! ¡Actuar!
