Mrs. Elizabeth Pizzurro

Teaching since 2005, Elizabeth Pizzurro has enjoyed inspiring young minds at the beginning of their educational journey, having taught Kindergarten and First Grade for the entirety of her career.  She has been recognized for her excellence in teaching by being honored with the Teacher of the Year award in 2008 and 2019.  Mrs. Pizzurro has also achieved distinguished teacher status within DISD.  This designation is bestowed upon educators based on their performance in the classroom along with their students’ educational achievements.  She has had a passion for working with children since college, when she crafted after-school programs for young children and realized that making a difference in the lives of future generations was her calling in life.

A native of Fort Worth, Mrs. Pizzurro graduated from Texas Christian University in 2005 with a degree in Social Work and is proud to have served the children of the Dallas Independent School District since that time.  She is happily married to her husband, Brandon, and has two wonderful daughters, Ashlyn (8) and Leighton (3).  In her spare time, she enjoys bike rides with her family, working out and playing with the family dog, Chloe.
