Opened in the fall of the 2013-2014 school year, the new Oran M. Roberts Elementary, replaces the original building that was built over 100 years ago. It was a multi-million dollar project propelled by parents, Dallas ISD, Jubilee and the Fair Park Community. A brand new, state of the art school building standing at 98,000 square feet, is environmentally sustainable and built to hold more than 800 students from grades Pre-K through 5th.

A colorful and comfortable library that encourages and promotes reading at every corner brightens our top floor, with two computer labs filled with touch-screen capable desktops right across the hall. A spacious gymnasium, a cafeteria with a sky-like ceiling and informative, colorful murals on the walls, and a modernized Multi-Purpose room, highlight the first floor.

Oran M. Roberts has implemented many innovative programs and research-based instructional practices, placing student academic performance on an upward trend. We pride ourselves in challenging students to perform to their utmost potential. We strive to invest in our students, teachers, staff, community members and parents by incorporating programs such as HIPPY, EPIC, Ark for Parents and Teachers, Reading Partners, Food 4 Kids, sports programs from the City of Dallas Park and Recreational Department, Parent University and the Jubilee Park Foundation, that has partnered with us to provide a social worker, mentors, and after school program and tutors who assist and support students and their families with any needs that may impact student learning and development.

The school staff connects with parents and the community to ensure student success. Parents are valued partners and are encouraged to participate in school activities, be it volunteering at the school or attending different workshops in early literacy, reading, math, and science to help better support their children at home in their learning.

At Oran M. Roberts, we believe that our scholars are our future and preparing them for that future is vital to their success and achievements. We have focused on creating a College and Career Ready vision for them by exposing them to college students and personnel, and diverse career-driven professionals who come and speak to our scholars about the world of possibilities for their future. Because “..after high school, we go to college!”
