• General Information

Obadiah Knight Elementary School was built in 1925 and was named after one of Dallas’ early pioneers who donated part of the land where the school presently sits. This area is rich with culture and the school serves a 99 percent Hispanic student population. We take great pride in implementing a dual bilingual program and being a Leader in Me school.

The school boasts a high student attendance rate and a dedicated community that supports our efforts. We have built great partnerships with organizations and businesses in our community, such as Love Field Airport, Grauwyler Public Library, and Our Lady of Perpetual Help church and school. The school staff connects with parents to ensure student success. Our staff hosts monthly support workshops for parents on a variety of subjects. Other parent involvement opportunities include assisting in classrooms, coffee with the principal, and serving on the Campus Improvement Planning committee.

At Obadiah Knight Elementary School, our mission is to create the leaders of tomorrow today by implementing the 7 Habits of Effective Students, challenging our scholars to become productive and responsible leaders. We empower students to learn by providing a rigorous curriculum, promoting collaboration, and allowing students to have a voice in their education. Through a dedicated Parents Of Knight Club, we encourage active participation in their student’s success, supporting workshops on a variety of topics and providing diverse involvement opportunities.
