About our principal...

Principal Pipkins is an energetic, innovative leader who loves creating fun and challenging learning experiences for all learners. This was cultivated through his educational experiences as a student in Â鶹Çøschools, along with his educational background as a proud, Â鶹Çøeducator.

Before his teaching career, Principal Pipkins graduated from Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts.  He graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas State University and received his Master of Education: Leadership and Administration in 2015 from Texas A&M University.

Principal Pipkins began his teaching career in 2013 at Nova Academy Charter. In 2014, Principal Pipkins returned to Â鶹Çøto serve as a classroom teacher, campus interventionist, math curriculum coach, testing coordinator and eventually assistant principal at Birdie Alexander Elementary. Principal Pipkins was awarded teacher of the year twice while at Birdie and also earned a Distinguished Teacher rating.  While at Birdie Alexander, Principal Pipkins dedicated a great amount of his work to innovation and transformation, which helped bring personalized learning to Alexander Elementary. In 2020, he transitioned to an assistant principal role at Harold W. Lang Sr. Middle School.  During this time, he focused on strongly supporting teachers and students, while also creating opportunities to connect to the greater community. Principal Pipkins went on to spend the 2021-2022 school year serving as Principal Resident at Ann Richards STEAM Academy working closely with his mentor principal to prepare for principalship. In March of 2022, Principal Pipkins was named principal of John Neely Bryan Elementary, where he has spent the past three years championing equity and excellence for all scholars through strong systems and intentional ACE instructional practices.

Principal Pipkins is filled with gratitude and enthusiasm for the opportunity to lead at N.W. Harllee Early Childhood Center. He is excited about fostering an environment where early learners can thrive academically and also build their self-efficacy through discovering their talents and strengths. Through individualized instruction, explicit social emotional practices, and close relationships with parents and the community, N.W. Harllee will be the model of excellence for early childhood learning, where scholars receive engaging educational experiences and all Harllee Hawks leave prepared for third grade and beyond!
