At Larry G. Smith Elementary School, our mission is to educate students to the highest level of academic performance while fostering positive growth in character, independence, and responsibility. We empower students to learn by providing a rigorous curriculum, promoting collaboration, and allowing students to be stakeholders in their own education.

 

Larry Smith Elementary opened in the Fall of 2007. Since that time, our students have participated in a variety of academic and extracurricular activities, including Dance, Art Club, Basketball, Soccer, Baseball, and several UIL Competitions, including the Lone Star Challenge, Destination Imagination, Spelling Bee, and Chess. For the 2022-2023 school year, our Destination Imagination Team represented LGS at the State Competition, and both of our VEX Robotics teams qualified for the Worlds Competition! 

 

School staff connect with parents and the community to ensure student success. Each month we offer opportunities for parents and the community to partner with the school, by serving on the Site-Based Decision Making Committee, participating in the PTA and monthly parent workshops, or volunteering daily.
