    Other ongoing measures

The district already has in place several programs to ensure schools are safe. These include:

    Campus Crime Stoppers
Campus Crime Stoppers is modeled after the national program that provides monetary rewards for anonymous tips about crimes that have been committed. The Dallas Independent School Districts student Campus Crime Stoppers program is in operation at several secondary schools. The Crime Stoppers program is part of the districts commitment to ensure that schools are safe for students and staff.

Students who call the Crime Stoppers hotline to report crimes on their campus and identify the person or persons who committed them will receive a cash reward from the Greater Dallas Crime Commission. To protect reporting students from reprisal, they are given a special code number and their identity is never revealed.

    Metal detectors
    Cameras
I.D. Badges for employees, students, and visitors while on district property.
An expanded 鶹Police and Security Services Department.
